An endless supply of ‘something for everyone’; the Costa de Sol is by far the most popular destination in Spain for relocation and holiday home buyers. The only people who could possibly disagree with this are the ones that have yet to venture here.
The beautiful beaches of Malaga Province span
161 km of glorious coastline. Bordered by the
finest restaurants, blue seas and sunny skies, this
region has the best climate in Europe. With 11
marinas, this region is ahead of the rest with sailing
and water sport facilities. A golfers paradise;
there are over 50 golf clubs in the western Costa
del Sol area, making it the highest concentrated
area of golf courses in continental Europe. For
the energetic amongst us there are an increasing
number of adventure sports including mountain
and rock climbing, horse-riding and potholing.
The Costa del Sol is extremely accessible with many taking advantage of the regular, inexpensive flights available from most mainland European countries direct to Malaga Airport.
There is a vast array of property to choose from, studio apartments for holiday lets to luxury, frontline beach or golf villas. Locations differ from typically Andalucian inland whitewash villages to upbeat centres like Marbella and the famous Puerto Banus.
Prices vary by location - a typical quality 2 bed apartment in a convenient coastal location would cost €230,000 while further inland expect to pay €190,000. A coastal 3 bed independent villa could be found for around €550,000 or less, with the same type of property inland costing as little as €350,000. Property prices increased by 12% during 2005 and are predicted to rise by a healthy 10% during 2006.
Healthy lifestyles and lower cost of living add to the ever increasing reputation of this most popular coast. The sheer magnitude of what the Costa del Sol has to offer is always going to make it Spain’s number one destination.
